In the earliest days of social media, Skype tapped JDM to help develop its very first social media program. As the company was setting up its first social team, we advised on everything from internal structure and employee education to outlining initial strategy. We worked closely with Skype on social media in the coming years, initiating its first social listening program and growing it into a global intelligence machine that informed customer service, product development, PR and marketing strategy.
For more than three years we delivered:
- Comprehensive monthly reporting on the consumer journey, products, competitors and industry trends
- Daily “Snapshots” of consumer sentiment around product launches and marketing campaigns – in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French
- Insights to alert Skype to customer service issues before they surfaced via traditional channels
As with LinkedIn today, our intelligence informed product development, customer service and communications strategies globally.
