What 10x Thinking Made Possible

When our team set a goal to help provide 10 million meals over 10 years, it felt almost out of reach.

That was the point.

The idea grew out of our founder’s work with the Flow Research Collective, where she was studying motivation, flow, and the neuroscience of human performance. One of the lessons that stuck with her was that purpose is not just a nice-to-have. It is one of the most powerful drivers of deep engagement, sustained effort, and innovation that is available to us.

Purpose asks us to think beyond ourselves. It gives our work a wider frame. And when purpose is paired with a clear, ambitious goal, it can change what we believe is possible.

At the time, giving back had long been part of life at Just Drive Media. Over the years, our team had supported organizations fighting hunger, volunteered at food pantries like The Branch of Nashville, sponsored a community garden at an elementary school in South Africa with Rise Against Hunger, opened a free community library, and raised funds through traditions like our annual holiday cooking fundraiser with The Chef and the Dish.

But our efforts were still somewhat scattered. Meaningful, yes. Consistent, yes. But not yet organized around a single, transformative goal.

Initially, we thought we might aim to help provide 1 million meals over 10 years. That felt meaningful and achievable. Then we decided to challenge ourselves with the 10X question.

What if it was 10 million meals?

Asking ourselves that question changed everything.

A smaller goal would have led to smaller actions. We might have made donations, hosted a few fundraisers, and continued supporting organizations when opportunities appeared. But a 10X goal forced us to think differently. It expanded the options in front of us.

Instead of asking, “How can we give a little more this year,” we started asking bigger questions: Who could we invite into this mission? What partnerships could multiply the impact? What existing moments, campaigns, and relationships could become part of the effort? How could we build a system that made giving easier to sustain over time?

That is the real power of 10X thinking. It does not simply make the number bigger. It changes the field of possibility.

Today, on World Hunger Day, we’re proud to share one answer: our team, clients, friends, partners, and family members have now helped provide more than 2 million meals to people experiencing food insecurity.

Across the United States, more than 48 million people, including 14 million children, live with food insecurity. Reliable access to meals supports health, learning, stability, and dignity. For us, this mission became a way to connect the work we do every day with a larger purpose beyond ourselves.

Since setting that goal, we’ve hosted our Meals for Moves challenge during Hunger Action Month, joined events like the Rise & Stride Race to End Hunger, and partnered with organizations like Feeding America, Arby’s, Tony Robbins, and the Flow Research Collective to increase our giving power exponentially.

We’ve also continued to learn from organizations and leaders who challenge us to think bigger. Our work with the brilliant team at X, The Moonshot Factory, has deepened our appreciation for moonshot thinking, ambitious problem-solving, and the discipline required to pursue ideas that initially seem out of reach. We’re currently going through their MasterClass Certificates program on innovation strategy, and what we’re learning is already influencing how we approach the future of our own business and impact work.

Reaching 2 million meals is a milestone we’re incredibly proud of. We’re grateful to every team member, client, partner, friend, and family member who helped make it possible.

And we’re even more excited about what comes next.

Because today, 10 million meals no longer feels out of reach.
